Adellion - FAQ

This document will answer to the most frequently asked questions about Adellion.

1. What are the system requirements for this game? (Minimum & Recommended)

 PC Windows, MacOS & Linux.
 Undecided – still in development.

2. What is the game setting?

Initially, the game will be set on the island Aryiure in the Adellonic year 3200 TS. This is a time when technology is medieval, even if some ancient secrets indicate that the technology before the The Sundering was more advanced. Several different cultures dominate the island. Five of them inhabit the largest continent, Aryiure, and one other lives in the nearest islands. Read more.

3. What kind of game is it?

Adellion is a roleplaying game. It will be a game in which the players can interact over the Internet and together create the illusion of Adellion as a real breathing world. The intention is for this to be more than just a game.

Adellion will be a diverse and vast world with many possibilities and options for the player. In fact anyone with enough dedication should be able to directly affect Adellion’s future. Founding a town, leading an army and farming land are all things which will be possible for the player to do.

4. Can I solo?

Unlike traditional MMORPGs the main goal or purpose around Adellion is interaction with others. Soloing is a natural part of gameplay while achieving personal goals, but also mingles regularly with interactive play.

5. What races are there?

Players will be able to select only one race, humans. However, currently 6 cultures are included in the game, each with its own strengths, weaknesses, and unique characteristics and customs. These cultures include the Salanians, the Tarians, the Dalmites, the Drulons, the Sakoians and the Aetheans. Read more here .

6. What classes are there?

Characters are skill based, allowing players to be whatever they wish too. There are no classes in Adellion. Players will progress in skills by using them, so they are free to choose which one they wish to develop.

7. How many characters can I have?

Only one character is allowed per account. This is to try and prevent the abuse that comes with players having multiple characters. This will also benefit communities, as each player will be devoted to a single character. When a character dies, the player has the option of playing their heir, and thus gaining most of the belongings of their deceased character. If a player did not arrange for an heir during their previous life, they will have to create a new one.

8. What are the major games features?

Adellion is designed to be a powerful roleplay based game. Unlike other traditional MMORPGs Adellion is centered on the actual “roleplaying” aspect more then the advancement one. Most of the features are realistic ones: permanent death, limited chat (by the proximity to the character as well as the language comprehension of each in-game culture), limited place in inventory bags, the need to eat and drink and all other player are “strangers” until manually named by the player. In fact there are no levels, and most skills are only partially (if at all) visible to the player. They can improve themselves by actively doing skills or being an apprentice to another player. As in real life, you know that you evolve in personal skills, with a limited amount each day, but there are no numbers. Adellion is a social game, where the entire storyline and game world will change based upon the actions of the players themselves. Players have the opportunity to become important leaders in the world. The game is what you make of it. Almost anything is possible.

9. Is there player housing?

Yes, it is possible to own land, stores, homes and much more. You can also hire NPCs to help guard it against potential thieves.

10. Are there player mounts/vehicles?

There will be horses, wagons, boats etc. All accessible, tamable or buildable by players.

11. Is there PVP play, if so what kind?

There is PVP, simply engaging another player. All players have one week from creation of immunity from PVP, as well they cannot engage in attacking other players or perform thievery actions during this time. But be careful! As the death is permanent and because you haven’t any way to know the opponent’s power (or strength), every fight is a challenge.

12. What does AD do for this game?

Aside from proving localization, AD will be hosting the game server and providing customer support both in and out of game as well as running NPCs and events.

13. How can I get support?

At this time support is limited to participants of the alpha test. We will update this section closer to launch.

14. How much will it cost me to play?

Fees are as yet undecided. There will be a monthly fee similar to other major MMORPGs on the market. It is undetermined if there will be a start up/purchase fee.

15. Is there a free trial period, if so where can I access it?

At this time the game is in the alpha testing phase.

17. What status if the game in?

The game is currently in Alpha testing.

18. How can I join the beta?

In order to be considered for the beta, simply sign up to the newsletter. A link is provided on the main page here. Access to the beta program is partially based on the constructive participation in the forums.
